The Disintegration Loops
The Disintegration Loops is an ongoing video series inspired by and set to music of the same title
by William Basinski. Basinski's music charts the decay of magnetic tapes over time as they play on
loop, discernible phrases of music gradually dissolving into noise, and silence. The videos are a way of
embodying this disintegration through extended, but finite physical tasks that approach the outer
limits of the body's endurance.
